LSU's Big Baby Glen Davis Loses 45 Pounds, Down to 280
Former LSU power forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis is getting ready for the NBA draft, and he's taking his conditioning seriously: On an ESPNews interview today, Glen Davis revealed a svelte figure, and when asked how much his body has changed since the basketball season, he said he's lost 45 pounds go get down to the 280 range.
Glen Davis said he made a special effort to lose weight because he wants to be healthy and be the best basketball player he can be, which raises the question of why he didn't want to be healthy and be the best basketball player he could be when he was in college.
No matter what kind of shape he's in, though, Glen Davis is seen as a marginal NBA prospect. A year ago, when he was fresh off leading LSU to the Final Four, there was some talk that he could have been a lottery pick. That talk was probably overstated, but this year, with a lot more talent in the draft, he'll be lucky to go in the first round.
