Celtics sign second-round pick Davis

BOSTON (AP) -- Second-round draft pick Glen Davis has signed a contract with the Boston Celtics, the team said Tuesday.

Glen Davis was selected 35th overall out of Louisiana State. He averaged 12 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots in five Summer League games.

"I like his versatility," said Danny Ainge, the Celtics' executive director of basketball operations, told The Boston Globe. "He can shoot the ball. He's a terrific rebounder, quick feet defensively."
